Toffee Apples




Ingredients: 

8 small red apples
2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup warm water
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/2 teaspoon red food colouring
12  wooden sticks




Directions:

Firstly wash all the apples in warm water. Stab each apple with one stick, do not pierce the fruit. Place a baking paper in large pan or plate.

Add water, butter and vinegar into a saucepan, place it on low heat and cook for 6 minutes (or until sugar melts), stirring constantly. Now increase the heat to medium, bring to boil and cook for 20 minutes. Brush the saucepan sides with wet brush all the time.

When done, remove form heat, add in red food colouring and stir to make it red. Let it stand for 30 seconds. Dip each apple in mixture, let it drain and place them on paper covered plate.
