Easy Tomato Soup




Ingredients: 

4 cups fresh tomatoes, chopped
2 tablespoons butter  
1 onion, sliced
3 whole cloves
2 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons sugar
Bunch of fresh basil leaves



Directions:

Place a large pot over medium high heat, add in chicken broth, tomatoes, whole cloves and onion, give it a good stir and boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and mill in a food mill. Place in a large pan.
  
Place previous pot on medium high heat again and add in butter. When the butter is melted, add in flour and stir until its combined and the mixture is medium brown. Add in about 2 cups of tomato mixture and mix until smooth. Then add in rest of tomato mixture. Season with salt and pepper and cook for another 5 minutes. 
Serve hot and decorate with fresh basil leaves.
