Sweet Fruit Rolls




Ingredients: 

4 cups all purpose flour
1 egg
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
lemon or orange zest from half of fruit
1 - 2 cup fruit jam (depends on how much you fill them)



Directions:

In a large bowl beat an egg and add in flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, salt, warm milk, sugar and lemon zest.Knead into a dough, add more flour if the dough sticks to hands. Leave it on room temperature for 2 hours.

Remove the dough to a wooden sheet, cut into 2 peaces and thinly roll out first peace.(If you have large baking pan and wooden sheet, you dont need to cut the dough.) Then cut the dough into 3 inch sides triangles.

Add 1/2 tablespoon of fruit jam onto center of each triangle, roll them from widest site to thinnest part. Arrange the rolls into butterd baking pan. Place the pan into oven and bake for 15 - 20 minutes on 350 degrees F.   Remove from oven and place on serving plate. Repeat the procedure with second part of dough. Optionally sprinke some sugar powder over the rolls.
