Shrimp With Spicy Masala and Rice



Ingredients

MASALA

1 teaspoons garam masala, spice
2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
2 onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 teaspoons curry powder
1 teaspoons coriander
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 can diced tomatoes with juice


SHRIMP

2 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
2  lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
1  onion, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1  can coconut milk (unsweetened)



Directions:

Malasa: Heat oil in a large pan, add onions and saute until golden brown (15- 20 minutes). Add all the spices and garlic and saute for another 1 - 2 minute. Remove from heat. Blend tomateoes with juice and yogurt until almost smooth, add sauted onions and stir to combine. Ad salt and papper to taste and leave it in fridge for couple of hours.

Shrimps: heat olive oil in a skillet, ad shrimp and saute for about 3 minutes. While stirring, add onion, coconut milk, lemon juice and malasa yhou have prepared earlier. Simmer for another 3 minutes, stirring with spoon. Season eith salt and pepper to taste. This dish goes best with rice.
